Most Android smartphone manufacturers have either published their Android 4.4 rollout plans or are in the process of doing so, but LG has strangely been lagging behind. But not anymore, as a Canadian LG exec has mentioned that its premier flagship smartphone, the LG G2 will start receiving the Android 4.4 update in late Q1, which roughly translates to March 2014. Although this is relatively late compared to manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, Motorola and even Sony, it’s reassuring to know that LG has a specific date in mind. So what about older LG devices you ask? Well, your guess is as good as ours at this point, but it’s likely that other LG flagships like the Optimus G Pro as well as other midrange devices will have the update by mid-2014.
It’s a little disappointing that LG has to wait that long to rollout the Android 4.4 update for its flagship smartphone, but considering the company’s history, we’re not surprised.
