It’s not just the latest HTC phones that can enjoy Sense 5 now. The international One SV (from 2012) is getting a new update to Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5 comes along for the ride. This update isn’t small, though, so get on Wifi if you have a metered plan.
This is a really good update for owners of this phone, as they’ve been stuck on Android 4.1.2 and Sense 4.0 for quite some time. The specific update is version 3.11.401.1 and is 431.05 MB in size. It might not be Jelly Bean 4.3 or KitKat 4.4 (which is still only on the Nexus 5 officially at time of posting), but at least you get 4.2 and Sense 5’s improvements. You also get the usual bug fixes included.
Hopefully this update is released soon in the US as well. It’s on all four carriers, so your specific timeframe may vary, especially if you’re on Verizon, who still has yet to release 4.3 for the 2013 One. So for those of you who have this phone, go ahead and grab the update if it’s been pushed out to you.
