We’ve seen a lot of dual-SIM smartphones out in the market lately. These devices have the flexibility of allowing two SIM cards to be used at the same time on a device. This makes it a lot easier for a consumer to separate work and personal contacts.
The dual-SIM devices available on the market however only allows a user to use one SIM at a time when placing calls or sending a text message. This means that if you are making a call on one SIM, you won’t be able to get calls or text messages on the other SIM. These devices are called Dual-SIM Dual-Standby (DSDS).
Gigabyte aims to provide a better alternative by coming up with a dual-SIM Android smartphone that allows for a three-way talking. The smartphone is called the GSmart Simba SX1 and is a dual-Sim dual-active (DSDA) device.
A press release of the company states that
“GSmart Simba SX1 has proven to be an unprecedented success across the globe, with Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA) technology which keeps both SIMs active at all times. When you are making calls on one SIM, you will still receive calls and messages on the other. You will get the option to put the first call on hold and invite the other incoming call to conference group. This is not by way of online application or special service from operators. With its revolutionary three-way talking feature, Simba SX1 does not only offer cost saving but also the ultimate connectivity for your business and personal life.”
