The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom will finally be available starting November 8. The wireless carrier today issued this announcement on its website, revealing the price of the camera-smartphone hybrid. AT&T is selling the device for $25 a month on the AT&T Next installment contract, or $199.99 with a two-year contract.
It may be recalled that last month, famous leak source @evleaks already stated via his Twitter account that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom was heading to AT&T. Today’s announcement confirms that once again, Evan Blass is correct about the information.
The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is touted as a first-of-its-kind device, combining the features of an advanced camera with those of a smartphone. The result is a convenient device that allows one to snap images and capture video as well as enjoy the capabilities of Samsung Galaxy devices.
Among the features of the powerful camera are 10x optical zoom, 25 pre-set Smart Modes to assist users in taking perfect shots, Xenon flash, and a 16 MP BSI CMOS sensor. The latter helps the user avoid taking blurred photos. Meanwhile, some of the Galaxy features available on the S4 Zoom are S Beam, Samsung Hub, and WatchON.
The hardware of the S4 Zoom is said to be based on the Galaxy S3, and not the Galaxy S4, despite what the name might lead one to believe. It offers a dual core 1.5GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of storage capacity, a microSD card slot, and a 2,330 mAh battery.
When the device launches, AT&T will offer promotional deals to entice more consumers into purchasing the S4 Zoom. Buying the device with a two-year agreement or AT&T Next and qualified voice and data plans can get a consumer a free Galaxy Tab 3. Consumers can also get a $100 AT&T Promotion Card if they trade in one of the qualified smartphones as per AT&T’s list, and buy a smartphone with AT&T Next. Lastly, 50GB of AT&T Locker will be available for buyers of the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom.
