AT&T flips the 4G LTE switch in 14 new markets of the U.S.

AT&T has just launched 4G LTE in 14 new markets of the United States, taking its total tally to 461. The carrier is still some distance behind Verizon, but is proudly the second largest 4G LTE network in the U.S. The carrier expects to finish rolling out 4G LTE to the entirety of the U.S. by 2014. Below are the regions to get AT&T’s 4G LTE signals for the very first time:

  • Fairbanks Metropolitan Area, AK
  • Galesburg, IL
  • Macomb, IL
  • Peoria, IL
  • Des Moines, IA
  • Madisonville, KY
  • Maysville, KY
  • Cumberland, MD
  • St. Cloud, MN
  • St. Joseph, MO
  • Roanoke Rapids, NC
  • Gettysburg, PA
  • Big Spring, TX
  • Winchester, VA

If AT&T lives up to its word of rolling out LTE all across the U.S. by next year, we might see its marketshare further increasing, thus creating problems for Verizon. AT&T also brags of having the country’s fastest 4G LTE network which is already a distinct advantage over the likes of Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile.
