AOSP Android 4.4 ROM now available for the Sony Xperia Z

Xperia Z Android 4.4

The Sony Xperia Z is relatively old in the marketplace now with the arrival of newer handsets like the Xperia Z Ultra and the Xperia Z1. But this doesn’t stop existing users from developing and cooking up new ROMs for the handset. The newest to that list is Android 4.4, which is now available for the smartphone as a flashable ROM. This is based on AOSP too like the several other custom ROMs we saw earlier last week, which doesn’t come with all the features of a full fledged ROM.

The XDA user OP has posted full details on flashing this new ROM which can be accessed from the source link below. The Xperia Z could be one of the last of Sony devices to get an update officially, but we can be assured that an update is certainly on the horizon. However, Sony would wait until its newer flagships have gotten the update before rolling out an update to the Xperia Z. So if you’re impatient enough to wait for Sony’s official update, this ROM is made for you.
