Android 4.3 (with Galaxy Gear support) now available for AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S III

More and more variants of various Samsung smartphones are getting the Android 4.3 update lately; some are also being pulled soon after being released, but that’s something we hope won’t happen with the update for the AT&T Galaxy S III, which has begun rolling out to users in the last few hours. A 600MB update is now available OTA, bringing Samsung’s yesteryear’s flagship on AT&T’s network directly to an Android version that’s two iterations newer than the one the device has been stuck on for more than a year.

The update comes with build number I747UCUEMJB, and will add support for Samsung’s smartwatch, KNOX security suite, improve performance, add visual touches to the interface, new camera modes, widgets, and updated Samsung apps, a move-to-SD card feature, and other under-the-hood improvements that should make for a much better overall experience. As always, the update will be rolling out gradually to users over the next couple of days, though you can always do a manual check in the Settings » About phone » Software updates menu.
