The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch have been formally announced for U.S. Cellular. The pricing has been fixed at $299.99 for the Note 3 with a two year contract and the Galaxy Gear will cost $299.99 as well. While the buyers can simply opt to pick the Galaxy Gear smartwatch from the carrier, one must realize that its compatibility is fairly limited as of now, so it wouldn’t make sense to get the Galaxy Gear if you don’t have a Galaxy Note 3.
So going by that, there’s nothing to tell this variant apart from the standard Verizon, AT&T or Sprint variant. But knowing the market conditions, we won’t be surprised if the prices go down a bit in a couple of weeks’ time. Sadly, U.S. Cellular will only sell the Galaxy Note 3 in the Jet Black variant, while the Galaxy Gear will be available in Jet Black and Oatmeal Beige color variants. Being the fifth largest carrier in the country, U.S. Cellular doesn’t quite have the marketshare enjoyed by the top four carriers, but it still has quite a lot of users with coverage extending to more than half the country.
