Sprint Galaxy S4 gets Android 4.3 update with Galaxy Gear compatibility

Sprint Galaxy S4

It was the Verizon Galaxy S4 which started getting the Android 4.3 update a couple of days ago and today it’s the Sprint variant. Exactly on schedule, the smartphone will start receiving the Android 4.3 (L720VPUAMJA) update today which also brings compatibility with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The changelog will also show some default Android upgrades along with the standard TouchWiz improvements which we saw in the Galaxy Note 3. It will also bring support for the much acclaimed Samsung Knox security features.

The update will go live gradually, so remain patient if you don’t see the OTA notification on your device. Impatient users can head over to the settings and manually check for an update. At most, users might have to wait a couple of days until Sprint finishes the rollout completely. Sprint is yet to publish the full changelog, but we don’t expect any surprises there. While Verizon and Sprint have now started the rollout of the update for the Galaxy S4, AT&T and T-Mobile variants will have to wait 2-3 more weeks for the update.
