Sony SmartWatch 2 Owners Reports Lifting Display Problems

Sony has just released its second generation wearable device in the form of the Sony SmartWatch 2. While the device itself has impressive specs on paper several people who have purchased it are reporting a problem where the display of the smartwatch is lifting or detaching itself from the frame.

The display problem seems to be caused by the glue which might not be strong enough. Owners of the device suffering from this problem have posted their experience over at the xda-developers forum and have even included photos of it.

One forum member said that “I just want to share my frustration when it comes to the sony smartwatch 2. Two days after I recieved the watch the whole front is detaching. I have included some pictures that illustrate the problem. I just can’t inderstand how bad the quality control must be to let a faulty phone that breaks after 2 days trough.”

Another member reported that “My SW2 arrived today. It works perfectly and I love it but it is lifting the same as yours. My was a gift from Clove in UK (I’m in Australia) and I can’t be bothered sending it back. I’m going to put a couple of drops of Superglue on it to hold it down.”

If you own this device and are having similar problems then the best course of action is to have it serviced at your local Sony support center.

You could also fix the problem yourself by applying glue on the affected area and holding it down for a couple of minutes. This seems to have worked on those who have tried it.

It must be noted that not all units are having this problem which only affects a few users.
