Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 getting the Android 4.3 update

Galaxy S4

Samsung has just begun the roll out of the Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S4 smartphones with the model number GT-I9505. This indicates an imminent roll out of the update on the global and American variants of the smartphone, although American carriers might slightly delay the update. The update doesn’t change a lot visually as Android 4.3 doesn’t bring a lot of cosmetic changes compared to Android 4.2.2. Buthe phone is reportedly faster than ever with an increase in benchmark scores by over 2,000 points indicating better hardware optimization. Below is the changelog of the new update as mentioned by Sam Mobile.

  • OpenGL 3.0 Support
  • GALAXY GEAR Support
  • TRIM Support (Makes the device much faster)
  • ANT+ Support
  • Samsung KNOX Implementation (KNOX bootloader and dedicated application)
  • Samsung Wallet comes pre-loaded
  • Improved RAM management
  • Improved Display colour reproduction (Display looks much sharper than before)
  • Improved TouchWiz Launcher (Much less launcher redraws and less lag)
  • New Samsung Keyboard
  • New Samsung Browser (Full screen by default, new tab interface and more)
  • New Reading Mode (Optimises display for reading, used by only a few specific applications)
  • New Camera firmware
  • Minor UI tweaks (Contacts app, Flashlight Widget, dialog boxes etc)

This could well be a region specific update roll out, so don’t be surprised if your smartphone hasn’t received update yet. But if you’re one of the lucky users to have received the update already, do let us know.
