Pantech has just announced the rumored Vega Secret Note smartphone with a fingerprint scanner on the back as expected. As the name probably indicates, the smartphone comes with a few security related features courtesy of the fingerprint scanner. Users will allegedly be able to unlock the phone using the fingerprint scanner and also display some hidden items like phonebook data, images or other private material. Pantech has basically gone beyond the standard functioning of a fingerprint scanner, which up until now was only limited to unlocking the device and authentication.
The Vega Secret Note also packs a 5.9 inch 1080p display, a 13MP camera, a 2.2MP front camera, a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 quad core chip, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and Android 4.2.2 with Pantech’s custom skin on top. The smartphone can be used as a USB host and can support external hard drives of up to 2TB, which is an awesome feature to have. It also comes with a stylus much like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with similar functions. The Vega Secret Note will be sold for 900,000 Korean Won, which is about $840. The steep pricing is justified given the amount of features and hardware it comes with.
