According to a new rumor, Google will launch a refresh to the Nexus 4 with LTE on board along with the Nexus 5 smartphone. The rehash of the Nexus 4 will apparently be sold in 16 and 32GB variants with pricing slated to be $299.99 and $349.99 respectively. The rumor further claims that the Nexus 5 will cost $399 and $449 for the 16 and 32GB variants, indicating a slight increase in pricing compared to last year’s Nexus flagship.
Despite the increase in price, the Nexus 5 is still set to be one of the best value for money smartphones of the year as competitive offerings with similar hardware cost north of $700. We’re not sure how credible these reports are, but it does sound like something Google would do. As most of you might not realize, the LG Nexus 4 actually comes with an LTE chip inside but it isn’t activated due to concerns regarding battery usage.
We hope the new Nexus 4 won’t affect the sales of the Nexus 5 smartphone in any way. The Nexus 5 is rumored to sport a 5 inch 1080p IPS display, an 8MP camera with OIS, a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 chip, 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB of storage and Android 4.4 KitKat.
