HTC’s predictions from July have come true as the company has posted a loss of NT$2.97 billion($101.3 million) for the third quarter of 2013. This is not going to be a pleasant sight for the company’s investors who have been persistent so far with the hopes of a quick turnaround. The company made a total revenue of  NT$47.05 billion ($1.6 billion) with its share prices going further down at -NT$3.58  (-$0.12). In Q2 2013, the company made profits of $42 million while stock prices were a tad better at $0.05 per share.

The HTC One got off to a good start but failed to keep up pace with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and other competitive offerings. Because of this,  HTC has really struggled to make a mark on the high end smartphone segment. And now with the arrival of newer droids like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the LG G2 and the Sony Xperia Z1, HTC will have to do something miraculous to get out of this downward spiral. The launch of the HTC One Max seems to be taking longer than expected, so we’re not really sure if HTC has anything else in mind right now.
