The Sony Xperia Z1S is scheduled for an announcement on November 12. But prior to the big reveal, it’s customary that the device stars in some leaks. We have one such leak coming straight from a Sony exhibition in Taiwan, where the device was spotted right next to a pair of new Sony headphones. To refresh your memory a bit, this is the same smartphone which was unveiled in Japan as the Xperia Z1 f, but the only difference here is that the Xperia Z1S is meant for global markets while the Z1 f was an exclusive to Japan through NTT Docomo. It’s still not confirmed if this smartphone is actually the Xperia Z1S, so we’ll reserve judgment until Sony officially unveils the smartphone.
Assuming that Sony will go with the same hardware for the Xperia Z1S as with the Xperia Z1 f, it should pack a 4.3 inch 720p display, a 20.7MP Sony G Lens camera, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, a 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 chip, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 2,300 mAh battery.
Update: ePrice has confirmed that the smartphone shown in the image is the Xperia Z from earlier this year with a protective covering on, so this isn’t actually the Xperia Z1S.
