Verizon letting upgrading customers retain unlimited data, but not for long

According to user accounts and partially confirmed information, Verizon Wireless customers who are looking to upgrade their smartphone will be able to keep their unlimited data plans, despite Verizon’s constant efforts to make users shy away from these plans. This could certainly be an error, so nobody knows how long it would take Verizon to reverse this.

But a Verizon rep seems to have told Droid-Life that they will not change or reverse the unlimited data plans once upgraded, so it appears like the coast is clear for upgrading customers who still want to be on unlimited data. But it’s almost imperative that Verizon will change its mind once it realizes it has made a mistake and users won’t be able to reap benefits of this error beyond that.

With devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and LG G2 on Verizon’s list, this might be an ideal time to upgrade. As a side note, Verizon is offering a cool 30% discount with its smartphones, so a $200 handset will only cost $140.
