Samsung UK has just announced pricing of the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch in the region, revealing how expensive the newest Galaxy devices are going to be. The Galaxy Note 3 has been listed for £649 ($1,015) while the Galaxy Gear smartwatch will apparently cost £299 ($467). Samsung will bundle the two together for £848 ($1,325).
This is way beyond what American carriers are charging off contract for the smartphone and the smartwatch. AT&T is charging around $724 for the Note 3 without contract while Verizon is charging $699.99 or $999.98 with the smartwatch bundled. Users in the UK though can seek solace in the fact that Samsung will offer a £50 exchange discount to users who walk into one of its Experience Stores at Westfield Stratford. This offer is valid only for the first 500 pre-order customers.
The users will be paying a premium mainly because it’s a new device in the market. We might get a better idea of its pricing when third party retailers in the region launch the smartphone. We’re still a couple of weeks away from the official global launch of the smartphone, so we can expect to get more clarity on that by then.
