Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S3 getting Android 4.3 in October

Android 4.3 update

According to a new report, the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S4 smartphones will receive an update to Android 4.3 beginning from next month. Unfortunately, there’s still no word on an update for the Galaxy Note II phablet and its still running Android 4.2 from last year.

Android 4.3 introduces minor improvements like the addition of Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, support for OpenGL 3.0 and many other bug fixes. But as this is a Samsung update, we can expect many new TouchWiz features on board, including the ones seen on the Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung didn’t clarify as to which versions of the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S4 will get the update, but as usual we can expect carrier variants to be the last to get it. As for the Note II, we’ll keep you posted on any new information regarding an update. An update to the Note II should get it on par with the Galaxy Note 3, at least in terms of software features.
