HTC One smartphones in Taiwan are reportedly getting the Android 4.3 update right on schedule. The update is about 512MB in size and brings some much needed improvements to the smartphone apart from the change in the Android version. The Developer Edition HTC One in the U.S. should be getting the update anytime now, as we reported yesterday.
Among the changes is what HTC calls “improvements to color contrasts in low light situations” which has been available on the recently launched HTC One Mini by default. Users however claim that the purple tint glitch on the camera is still existent even after the update, which is rather unfortunate. Some HTC support staff have claimed that it’s a hardware issue so it’s highly unlikely to be fixed through software updates. HTC has also brought some minor changes to Gallery and more particularly to the Video Highlights feature. We can expect the update to go live in other parts of the world soon, with carrier variants being the last to get it, as usual.
