HTC falling short on casing supplies for the One Mini smartphone

Emerging reports are suggesting that HTC could be facing a shortage of casings for the One Mini smartphone, leading to a poor third quarter. HTC’s issue with the supply chain is well known and has been in the public domain for quite some time. Analysts have predicted that if HTC’s poor run continues, it might well be on its way to posting a loss in the current quarter. The company is supposedly selling only 200,000 units of the One Mini smartphone every month, which isn’t a great figure by any means.

During its Q2 financial statement, HTC predicted losses in the forthcoming quarter for the first time in company history and it seems like those predictions were spot on. The company will hope to make a quick turnaround with the One Max smartphone. But that can’t save the company from the inevitable red mark on its quarterly earnings as the quarter ends next week. HTC’s expensive marketing campaign with Robert Downey Jr has certainly not worked so far.
