The Developer Edition HTC One will reportedly get the Android 4.3 update later this week, according to Jason Mackenzie of HTC. It was reported last month that the smartphone would skip the Android 4.2 update and directly get Android 4.3. While American customers will get the update this week, Canadian customers will have to wait for a few more days until the end of the month.
While this is great news for owners of the Developer Edition HTC One smartphones, the carrier variants might have to wait even further. HTC is apparently working with the carriers to get the update certified, which seems to be the reason behind the delay. Considering the history these American carriers have had with updates, we’re not really surprised by the delay.
HTC’s Jason Mackenzie has been keeping HTC fans up to date with all the upcoming news on Twitter and we can expect to hear more about carrier variants of the HTC One when the time arrives.
Good news – the latest Sense experience & Android 4.3 will push to One Dev Edition owners this week & One customers in Canada by month end.
