Alcatel has just officially unveiled yet another One Touch Idol series smartphone with the Idol X. This is the same smartphone which leaked a few days ago along with the Idol S and Idol Mini. This is a high end smartphone containing all the necessary prerequisites of a modern day flagship, but the highlight is the ultra slim form factor. The smartphone, at 6.9mm is one of the slimmest handsets around. Of course it’s not as slim as a few other phones we’ve seen from Chinese manufacturers, but it’s still a lot slimmer than most flagships around us. The Idol X also brags of having a solid titanium alloy frame.
The Idol X houses a 5 inch 1080p display panel with the durable Dragontail Glass, a 13MP camera on the back with a 2MP front camera, 2GB of RAM, a quad core 1.5 GHz CPU, 8 and 16GB storage variants, Android 4.2 and a 2,000 mAh battery (as per the Alcatel site). The 2,000 mAh battery would not last long with a power hungry display and a quad core processor on board. We’re guessing Alcatel had to make that sacrifice to retain the slim form factor. The smartphone will be sold in Slate, Flash Yellow and Flash Red color variants for an undisclosed amount. We should see the Idol X making its way to Asian and European markets in due time.
