China currently is the top market for smartphones, even leaving behind the U.S. However, other Asian countries aren’t far behind either. India is in third place while Japan is in fourth and UK stands at fifth. This is a clear indication Asia is vital for the success of any major smartphone. And much like China, India too has a lot of local manufacturers who produce low cost smartphones.
One such manufacturer is Xolo which has just launched the new Xolo Q1000S smartphone in the country. While we’re not sure if this smartphone will ever make its way outside the country, we won’t be surprised to find it over at Amazon in a few months.
The Xolo Q1000S smartphone features a 5 inch 720p display, a 1.5 GHz quad core MediaTek chipset, 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP front facing camera, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The smartphone also sports a decent 2,500 mAh battery and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
As with any local smartphone, pricing is crucial to compete with bigwigs like Samsung, so Xolo has decided to price this at a decent $300 (18,999 INR). Xolo is also known for bringing Intel based smartphones to the market.
