While all major carriers of U.S. have been selling the HTC One for quite some time now, Verizon has been missing from that list. But not for long, as the company has officially announced the smartphone’s arrival on its retail outlets from August 22. The carrier gave this information through its Twitter account.
The smartphone will cost $199.99 on a two year contract, with prices set to go down subsequently when third party retailers begin selling the smartphone. As the official press image reveals, the smartphone comes with traditional Verizon branding, but only on the back much to our delight. So make sure you head over to the nearest Verizon store next Thursday if you’re interested in a VZW branded HTC One.

There was no mention of any carrier exclusive color variant as rumored before, so we’re guessing users only have two colors to choose from (Stealth Black and Glacier Silver). Sprint is getting the exclusive red variant of the smartphone today, which was probably well suited for Verizon. The Verizon HTC One should launch with Android 4.2.2 out of the box as rumored before.
