The Samsung Convoy 3 smartphone for Verizon has just been spotted and is sure to bring back some memories. The Convoy 3 is a heavy duty smartphone and comes with “a rugged, military spec design” which is bound to enthrall aspiring buyers. As you can see from the picture, the smartphone packs a tiny display on the front along with three physical music controls. The smartphone also comes with dual microphones to support noise cancellation, so don’t be fooled by the form factor. The smartphone is shock, heat, moisture and dust resistant as well thanks to its military spec design. Sadly the smartphone supports Verizon’s 3G networks but not 4G LTE. The Samsung Convoy 3 was spotted on Verizon’s roadmap for August.
The Convoy 3 packs a 2.4 inch main display and a 1.3 inch secondary panel, a 480 MHz single core processor, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of internal storage with a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), a 3.2MP camera and a Java based operating system. Verizon is yet to officially launch the smartphone, as the Convoy 2 is still being sold. We’re guessing the carrier will slowly phase out the handset in favor of the new Convoy 3.
