A variant of the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, complete with LTE (bands 2, 4, 5, 7) and all the bells and whistles has just made its way to the FCC. This strongly suggests a T-Mobile variant of the smartphone as the carrier currently supports LTE band 4. The filing reveals that the smartphone supports 1,700 MHz HSPA connectivity, which further substantiates the claim. The Xperia Z Ultra is yet to be announced formally on U.S carriers, but this new revelation could be one of the many hints of its arrival in the U.S.
The Xperia Z Ultra has already received a launch date for the UK, while the U.S. is still kept in the dark. It’s only a matter of time we think until Sony unveils this monstrous phablet for North America. Given that there’s no real competition for the Xperia Z Ultra in the market right now, we believe it’s the ideal time to launch it. Let’s wait for an official word from either of the American carriers, which should happen any time soon.
