Sony Xperia Z1 Mini to be the smallest smartphone with Snapdragon 800

The Xperia Z1 Mini is an exciting device, even though the main item will be the 5.2-inch Xperia Z1, the mini version may not be the underrated mid-range device we are used to seeing from ‘mini’ Android smartphones.

Sony may add all the features on the Xperia Z1 to the Xperia Z1 Mini, making them the same phone with a different size. There is one problem with this move, there is currently no 1080p panel small enough to fit the Xperia Z1 Mini 4.3-inch size.

This may be the only shortfall, with Sony preparing to add the Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and the 20MP camera. This is the main feature, the 20MP camera will come with OIS, f/2.4 aperture, optical zoom and Sony’s G-Lens.

We still are not sure how Sony will market the Xperia Z1 Mini, will it be the same price as the Xperia Z1 or will it be the same price as the HTC One Mini and Galaxy S4 Mini. If they can hit a reasonable price point for people who want a smaller device, this may be a crowd-pleaser.

According to new reports, NTT DoCoMo will carry the Xperia Z1 Mini in the fourth quarter along with the Xperia Z1. We still have no confirmation either will come to Europe or the US, but we hope both make their way sometime in the next few months.
