We already know plenty about the LG G2 after yesterday’s announcement, but what we don’t know is the price of the smartphone. But even that mystery has been solved now with a tipster giving out the details to Phone Arena. The price for the 16GB LG G2 has been quoted as €599 ($800) while the 32GB variant has been priced at €629 ($840). That’s a lot of money, but this is only for the international unlocked variants.
The smartphone will cost $199 and $299 on contract when it makes its way to the U.S. The off contract pricing of the LG G2 is claimed to be $599 and $629 respectively. We can expect carriers to slowly start giving out pricing details as the smartphone makes its way to the shelves by the end of this month. However, some carriers might take longer to launch the smartphone which is usually the case.
LG has certainly stepped up the pricing substantially, but given that the G2 is currently the best smartphone money can buy, we think it is justified. International markets have always been familiar with steep prices as most handsets there are sold unlocked.
