Nexus 7 will be available in the UK and Australia on August 28

New Google Nexus 7

Google is not the greatest when it comes to international releases, we worried about the UK release of the Nexus 4 and now the Chromecast and the Moto X. At least the Nexus 7 has a firm date, for both the UK and Australia.

The new Nexus 7 will arrive in the UK and Australia on August 28, this news is from ASUS. No word on other regions yet, although it is likely the Nexus 7 will find its way to all of Europe and some parts of Asia by the end of this year.

In the UK, the price will start at £199 for the 16GB WiFi version, £239 for the 32GB WiFi version and £299 for the 32GB LTE version. UK buyers now have three different LTE carriers, EE, 02 and Vodafone, to choose from.

For Australia, the prices for the Nexus 7 16GB WiFi, 32GB WiFi and LTE version will be 299AUD, 339AUD and 439AUD, respectively. In Australia Telstra, Optus and Vodafone all offer 4G services.

The Nexus 7 brings a few new updates to one of the best selling Android tablets, including a new 1920 x 1200 resolution display, quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB of RAM and LTE.

ASUS and Google have also managed to chip a little off the side bezels to make the tablet look longer. The tablet is also thinner than the previous version and has the same back soft touch finish.

Overall, we found the Nexus 7 to be an incredibly good tablet, especially considering the cheap price.
