Nexus 7 32GB will arrive on August 16 at Best Buy, Future Shop and Staples

New Google Nexus 7

The Nexus 7 has only been on sale for a week, but already some storage junkies are clambering for the 32GB version of the new Google tablet. Good news, Google and other retailers have officially announced an August 16 release date.

For now the Nexus 7 32GB will only be available in Best Buy, Future Shop and Staples in the US. Google will push the Nexus 7 out to the UK and other countries, but we believe they will keep the 32GB model in the US for a little while longer.

The previous version of the Nexus 7 with 8GB and 16GB models had a troubling time, while the 8GB model was out of stock for the first month and hard to find anywhere, the 16GB model was almost always in stock, with people opting for the cheaper price.

With the price bump on the new Nexus 7, we may see a lacklustre amount of sales in comparison to last year. Reports detail the Nexus 7 sold about 8 million units, this year analysts say Google will hit 3 million.

Google and ASUS have done a great job with the new tablet, trimming the bezels, the weight and the size of the tablet and adding a gorgeous 1920 x 1200 resolution display. The Nexus 7’s only weakness is its battery life, with many reporting about five hours while watching movies.
