Sony is in complete advertising mode as it has posted yet another teaser of the Xperia Z1 (Honami) smartphone over at Twitter. This time, the teaser reveals the Z1’s water resistant body as it seems to be submerged in water, which is an obvious hint at its water resistant credentials. So this will basically be the third Sony flagship in a row after the Xperia Z and the Xperia Z Ultra to come with IP57 certification. Perhaps Sony sees this as a prerequisite for every upcoming flagship, which makes a lot of sense.
Sony showed us the power button of the smartphone yesterday and has followed it up with this today, so we can expect to see a lot more in the next couple of weeks. The launch event is two Wednesdays away as the Xperia Z1 will be shown off on September 4 before the IFA event kicks off in Berlin.
The Xperia Z1 is expected to feature a 5 inch 1080p display, a 20.7MP Sony G Lens camera, a Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, Android 4.2.2 and a decently sized battery. The smartphone is also rumored to have a unique combination of a LED and XENON flash, which is surely one of the highlights.
