With all the talk about Apple’s new cheap iPhone set to storm the markets, a new Chinese manufacturer has decided to cash in on the buzz and hype, albeit a little earlier than scheduled. Goophone is about to launch a clone of the Apple iPhone 5C, calling it the i5C. Interestingly, the manufacturer has decided to charge only $99 for its offering which isn’t bad for a future iPhone look alike.
Goophone is a well-known industry figure in making smartphone clones, with several such devices to its credit. The i5C though is a little different as the iPhone 5C isn’t officially out yet. So this basically means that Goophone has taken rumors into account and studied them closely to borrow the design of the upcoming low cost iPhone.
Specs wise, the Goophone i5C isn’t all bad either. The smartphone packs a 4 inch qHD (960×540) resolution display, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera with a 2MP front facing camera, a 1.2 GHz dual core MediaTek MTK6572 processor and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. We are yet to gather details of its launch, but it’s almost certain that it will be limited to China.
