Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 getting Android 4.3 security patch

Android 4.3 security update

T-Mobile announced a very minor security related update for the Nexus 4 yesterday which was mostly a bug squashing affair. It now seems like the rest of the Nexus lineup might be getting the update as well, with the Nexus 10, Nexus 7 and the Galaxy Nexus reportedly being the beneficiaries. The update apparently has been confirmed for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (yakju) models with the status on Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 still unconfirmed. Yesterday’s Nexus 4 update came with the build number JWR66Y while most Android 4.3 running Nexus 4 smartphones have JWR66V. The update was only 2MB in size, further reiterating that it’s not a major update.

A wise soul over at XDA has managed to package the update in a flashable zip file. However, this only applies to the aforementioned model of the Galaxy Nexus. Since it’s a minor update, it shouldn’t concern most users, but it’s always a good feeling to run the latest version of an OS as any Android users will tell you.
