AT&T adds five new 4G LTE markets, expands eight others


AT&T has just announced its latest phase of 4G LTE rollout with five new cities getting the carrier’s LTE signals and eight others being expanded. The carrier is playing catch up with Verizon even now, but it’s doing all it can to expand its reach to every corner of the U.S. AT&T plans to add 50 new regions by the end of 2013, which is easily achievable looking at the pace of its expansion. Combining these 50, AT&T’s 4G LTE coverage will then cross 400 regions across the U.S.

The carrier has added these new cities to its 4G LTE roster:

  • New Bern, NC
  • State College, PA
  • Jayuya, PR
  • Georgetown, SC
  • Ruston, LA

These are the expansions:

  • Atlanta, GA (Putnam County)
  • Baton Rouge, LA
  • Lafayette, LA (St. Martin Parish)
  • Shreveport, LA (north & south)
  • Oxford, MS (Panola County, Lafayette County)
  • Albany, NY (Delmar, Troy)
  • San Juan, PR
  • Guayama, PR

And these are the 50 new markets slated to get coverage by the end of the year
