ASUS Memo Pad HD7 now available for preorder

ASUS Memo Pad HD7

A new budget tablet is in town in the form of the new ASUS Memo Pad HD7. This tablet is the successor to the ASUS Memo Pad which launched earlier this year. The new Memo Pad HD7 will only set you back by $149 and is currently available for pre order on Amazon, Newegg, TigerDirect and GameStop.

The tablet features a 7 inch 1280×800 display, 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek chipset, 5MP camera on the back, 1.2MP front facing camera, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable) and surprisingly, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Considering the price ASUS is selling it for, it certainly sounds like a steal. The original Memo Pad wasn’t all that impressive on the specs front, but things are clearly different this time around. This could be a serious competitor to the new Nexus 7, which sells for $230 in the U.S.

This is an ideal tablet for first time tablet buyers, as there’s not a lot of investment involved and the price to features ratio is very high. Since it’s running Android 4.2, we don’t rule out an update to Android 4.3 in the future.

Head over to your favorite online retailer from the links provided below and have your pick. Some retailers are reportedly shipping the tablet early.
