Acer Liquid Z3 Gets Officially Announced

While most of the major players in the smartphone industry are releasing devices with larger displays Acer is going the opposite direction by announcing a smartphone with the tag line “less is more”. The Acer Liquid Z3 is an upcoming 3.5 inch Android smartphone that’s low cost and can be categorized as an entry level device.

Acer’s president of smartphone ST Liew said that “We believe that we will capture small-screen smartphone and large-screen smartphone. A lot of people have started abandoning 3.5 inch. No, we are going to persist on 3.5 inch and we are going to make a 3.5 inch suitable for a segment of people that treasure smaller screen devices.”

What’s probably one of the Liquid Z3’s most prominent features is that it has a petite size. Its dimensions measure 109 by 60 millimeters and is 10.4 millimeters thick. It also only weighs 120 grams. While its size makes it similar to that of other devices in this category such as the Sony Xperia E or the HTC Desire 200 it differentiates itself in its unique user profiles.

  • Basic Mode: For young people with call and text functions
  • Senior Mode: Messages, radio, weather, magnify, clock, quick call contacts
  • Classic mode: All main functions in a simple and organized layout
  • Keypad mode: For people who use voice and need their keypad right away

The four different user profiles targets the different users and age groups.

Another great feature that comes with this model is that it will have access to AcerCloud. This allows users to easily manage their important data by uploading them to the cloud and accessing it through various devices.
