Verizon Galaxy S4 being updated to VRUAME7, not available OTA

This morning, Samsung and Verizon pushed out a new update to the Verizon Galaxy S4, bringing it to software version VRUAME7. The way to receive this update is a bit odd, however, as you must connect your Galaxy S4 to either a Windows PC or a Mac, and use the Software Upgrade Assistant from there.

As noted by Droid-Life, the update brings some new features such as the ability to move Applications onto your SD card, as well as a transparent notification bar for any type of wallpaper. Another thing that should be noted is that this new software is unable to be rooted with the old method, so stay away from this update if you’re currently rooted.

There is no changelog available direct from Verizon yet, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.

  1. my destroying update came OTA maybe because I have a 32 GB model.

extremely angry; we can’t even flash to stock, can we?

  2. I was also notified in my phone that an OTA update was available and it went fine. Took about 20 mins from start to finish with reboots and updates. Move To SD now available for download apps that support that option. System apps and pre-installed bloatware can’t be moved to SD.

  3. You can recieve the update via ota I did just this morning it could havejust started but here are some screenshots, I dont think it would be an area type of deal considering I live in louisville kentucky I doubt we would be the first to get the update via ota before anyone else
