Samsung might skip the Android 4.2 update for the Galaxy S2

Galaxy S2

According to a new report, the Samsung Galaxy S2 might not get the Android 4.2 update. The Samsung flagship from 2011, has received all major updates of Android till now and currently runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. While Samsung initially promised an Android 4.2 update to Galaxy S II owners, “adjustment problems with TouchWiz” seem to be putting a damper on those plans. So the users might have to make their peace with Android 4.1.2 for now. It’s still a good update history considering that the smartphone originally launched with Android 2.3.

With the Galaxy S2 out of the way for Samsung, it would be fair to assume that even the first gen Galaxy Note is out of contention for the new update. We say this because both devices feature more or less the same hardware. However, developer groups like Cyanogen Mod exist for a reason, so make sure you give that a try if you want your phone to be running on the latest version of Android.
