New Nexus 7 gets unboxed before official announcement

The new upgraded ASUS/Google Nexus 7 has received the unboxing treatment on video, revealing the original retail packaging with all the accessories on board. The tablet made an appearance on Best Buy yesterday and is up for pre order for $229.99 and $269.99 for the 16 and 32GB variants respectively. The video reveals the tablet, some documentation, a battery adapter and a USB cable. That’s pretty much all users get from most Nexus devices anyways, so no surprises there.

The Nexus 7 will sport a high res 1920×1200 display, the 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset similar to the one on the LG Nexus 4, 2GB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, 1.2MP front facing camera and what seems like Android 4.3. We’re not sure if the battery capacity is increased on the new tablet as it now sports a power hungry display with all those extra pixels to crunch.

Let’s wait for Google’s official announcement which is about a few hours from now, and we’ll know all there is to know about the tablet. We’re hearing rumors about Google only launching the Wi-Fi variants for the time being, with cellular (probably LTE) models arriving later.
