The Optimus L9 smartphone on T-Mobile has had a topsy-turvy history with the Jelly Bean update as it was pulled back shortly after being rolled out due to excessive battery drain. But LG and T-Mobile seem to have figured out those issues as the smartphone is now receiving a fresh update to Android 4.1.2. Users already on Jelly Bean 4.1.2 will get the update too with a fix to the aforementioned glitch. As for users with Android 4.0.4, this is a pretty standard update. If the OTA update notification doesn’t pop up, make sure you head over to Settings–About Device–System Update to manually check for it.
LG has traditionally been very slow as far as software updates are concerned and the Optimus L9 is a fine example of that. But we hope LG changes that habit with the current crop of smartphones.
The Optimus L9 features a 4.7 inch 540×960 resolution display, a 1 GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a 5MP camera with a VGA front facing camera and a 2,150 mAh battery.
