According to a report from a Korean website, MK News, the upcoming LG G2 smartphone could reach over 100 carriers globally within 2-3 months of its August 7 announcement in New York. The launch will first commence in LG’s home region of South Korea in August, followed by North America in September and the rest of the world by the end of October. LG has clearly adopted a strong marketing strategy as it plans to cover all major global markets within three months of the announcement. The company has been criticized in the past for being rather slow to launch smartphones in world markets, but that could change with the G2.
The LG G2 will feature a few unique features as leaks in the past have suggested. The most prominent of these features is the volume rocker/zoom control positioned near the rear camera. The practicality of this feature is yet to be tested though. Other features include a 5.2 inch 1080p IPS display, 3GB of RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, a 13MP camera, a 2,610 mAh battery and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (or Android 4.3). The smartphone is expected to launch on all major carriers in the U.S.
