Boost Mobile and Sprint have announced the launch dates of the Kyocera Hydro Edge smartphone in the U.S. Sprint will have the smartphone in stores on the 19th of this month while Boost Mobile will get it four days later on the 23rd. The Hydro Edge is a water resistant smartphone as the name suggests, but sadly doesn’t feature any other praiseworthy specs.
Packing a 4 inch display, a 1 GHz dual core Snapdragon chipset, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a 5MP camera, the Kyocera Hydro Edge won’t be on the top of the must have smartphones list, but is still a decent enough smartphone for people willing to look beyond the specs sheet.
Boost Mobile is selling the Hydro Edge without a contract for $149, while Sprint’s two year contract pricing has been set at $19.99 with a $50 mail in rebate. That’s a really small amount to pay for a phone which features an impact resistant display and a water resistant exterior.
