Huawei Ascend Mate arrives in the UK via Vodafone

The Huawei Ascend Mate which originally broke cover at CES earlier this year has arrived in the UK. The smartphone is now available in the region via Vodafone for an undisclosed price. We’re guessing it won’t go too heavy on your wallets, considering it’s a Huawei smartphone which are traditionally known for their bang to the buck nature. UK retailer Expansys is currently selling the device for £339.99 ($513), which is a decent enough deal.

The Ascend Mate packs an enormous 6.1 inch display of HD resolution, a home baked 1.5 GHz Huawei K3V2 quad core processor, a 4,050 mAh battery, an 8MP main camera with a 1MP front facing camera,  2GB of RAM and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with an update to Android 4.2 certainly on the cards.

There’s no info on official availability of the Huawei Ascend Mate in the U.S, but we hope it wouldn’t take too long. In October last year, the U.S Congress claimed that manufacturers like Huawei and ZTE pose security threat for the country. This hasn’t stopped imports of Huawei smartphones though.
