Google Glass Gets a software update with more voice commands and webpage viewing

Starting today, those of you lucky enough to own Google Glass get a new software update with lots of new features! This monthly update now adds more voice commands, such as sending a message or calling a Gmail contact, and navigating a webpage.

Now it’s good that you can send messages and call people, because that makes the need for pulling out your phone while you have it on your face moot. But the really interesting feature here is the ability to browse the full internet on your face. The gestures for navigating the browser are as follows:

  • Scrolling – slide your finger up and down
  • Zoom – Slide two fingers forward or backward to zoom.
  • Looking around – With two fingers down on the touchpad, move your head around to pan the webpage
  • Click – As you look around, you can tap to select anything in the center of the screen.

Here’s a screenshot of what it looks like:

These features will most likely be ironed out over the next few months before it is released to the public in 2014.
