Sony Announces Xperia C And New Xperia SP, Both Headed To China

Sony unveiled new products at the Mobile Asia Expo event in shanghai, China. While it is the Xperia Z Ultra that is undoubtedly the star of the company’s presentation two other devices are also making waves, these are the Sony Xperia C and the Sony Xperia SP.


The Xperia C is the company’s first device that will be using a MediaTek processor. This is a 5 inch dual SIM Android device that is going to be available exclusively for China Unicorn and will come in three colors – black, white, and purple. There’s no details provided on when it will be made available, its pricing or if it will be sold outside China.

The new Sony Xperia SP (M35t) is an update to the existing Xperia SP model. It’s shares identical specifications with the old model save for the addition of a TD-LTE antenna that allows it to work with China Mobile’s 4G network. Just like the Xperia C there’s also no word as to when this model will be available, what it’s going to cost, or if it will ever make its way outside of the China.
