Samsung makes Galaxy Ace 3 official

The Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 is the newest addition to the Korean electronics giant’s 2013 product lineup. This device is aimed at the low-end market segment, matching an affordable price with a set of basic hardware and features.

The announcement confirms many of the rumored specifications that came out in various leaks.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 features a 4-inch WVGA TFT LCD screen, with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Inside, it comes with a 1GHz Dual Core processor, 1 GB of RAM, and 4 GB of storage capacity. A microSD card slot, which can add as much as 64 GB of extra storage space, is included, as well. For its operating system, the entry-level handset comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, with the Samsung TouchWiz Interface on top.

Connectivity-wise, the Galaxy Ace 3 supports Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz. Cellular connectivity can be either HSPA+ or LTE, depending on the market.

As for its cameras, the smartphone offers a rear-facing one with a 5 MP sensor and LED Flash. Such camera comes with several features to enhance the picture-taking experience and facilitate sharing with friends. These features include Sound & Shot, Buddy Photo, and Best Photo. The primary camera is complemented by a front-facing VGA one for video chatting.

Furthermore, A-GPS / GLONASS is also available, as well as an accelerometer, digital compass, and proximity sensor.

As with other Samsung handsets, the Galaxy Ace 3 is packed with several exclusive Samsung features.

There is Easy Mode, which lets users enjoy a simple homescreen with easy access to the user’s favorite features. Smart Stay, meanwhile, allows users to conserve battery juice by detecting when they user is not looking at the screen, through facial recognition technology. S Translator, for its part, gives immediate translations whereas S Travel serves as one’s guide for trips. Lastly, S Voice is a voice-enabled personal assistant that responds to one’s spoken commands.
