Huawei’s Mid-Range Tablet MediaPad 7 Vogue Can Make Calls

Huawei has recently announced a new mid-range 7 inch tablet model that at first glance you may think is just like any other 7 inch tablet out in the market today. The company has included a voice calling feature in the 3G model which isn’t common and is great to use if you don’t mind having a large object plastered to your head. There’s also a Wi-Fi only model available.

Huawei CEO Richard Yu announced in a press release “Building on the popularity of the HUAWEI MediaPad series, we’ve created a new tablet that caters to fashionistas, technology seekers, entertainment junkies, and people who simply expect more from their technology. We’re delighted to introduce the MediaPad 7 Vogue, our call-enabled tablet with world-class entertainment capabilities and long-lasting battery power. The MediaPad 7 Vogue is a perfect example of Huawei’s dedication to making extraordinary experiences possible.”

The MediaPad 7 Vogue uses an aluminum unibody design making it durable and stylish. It definitely sets itself apart from the other plastic Android tablet models. Those interested in buying this can add an external keyboard, mouse and even a USB pendrive using its USB port.

Pre-installed applications include various apps for email, word processing, Facebook, YouTube, and GPS navigation. The device also comes with the company’s proprietary Emotion UI 1.5 which runs on top of Android   4.1. This makes navigating it more user-friendly.

As far as its voice calling capability goes the device comes with a built-in receiver so there’s no need for a headphone if calls are to be made. Its 3G module can support DC-HSPA+ which can provide a downlink speed of up to 42 Mbps.

The MediaPad 7 Vogue will be available in the Chinese market later this month at a still to be announced price. There’s still no information if it will be making its way to other countries.
