Huawei’s Prism II smartphone will soon be available from T-Mobile. The handset now appears on the carrier’s website, although there is still no option to add it to one’s shopping cart.
The Huawei Prism II an entry-level smartphone for those looking for basic Android features such as downloading apps and managing social networks.
A follow-up to the 2012 release Prism smartphone, the Prism II features a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels.
Under the hood, it runs on a 1GHz single-core processor. It also packs 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage capacity. Memory expansion via SD card is possible for up to 32 GB. For its operating system, the Prism II comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, with Google Now and Butter enhancements.
It also features a single, rear-facing camera with a 3.2 MP image sensor with support for digital zoom.
Several Google apps are pre-installed on the device, including Google Talk, Youtube, Gmail, Maps, and Calendar. Users are also given access to the Play Store.
The available connectivity options are Bluetooth, GPS with navigation capability, and 3G through T-Mobile’s 3G Network.
Its entertainment features include a 3.5 mm audio jack, a music player, and a video capture and playback functionality.
Unfortunately, there is still no price posted for the Huawei Prism II. However, given that its predecessor only retailed for $149.99 without a contract, it is likely that the Prism II will come with a pocket-friendly price, as well. It is expected that T-Mobile will soon make the Prism II available.
