Currently, the distinction of being the world’s thinnest smartphone is held by Huawei P6-U06. But a recent rumor from our source says that its reign will be over soon, thanks to the upcoming UMeox X5.

The Huawei P6-U06, also known as the Huawei Ascend P6 or simply Huawei P6, just got its official certification as the thinnest smartphone in the world but it has not been officially unveiled yet in the public. The thickness of the device is only 6.18 mm.

However, Chinese sources say that the Umeox X5 only has 5.6 mm body. The actual dimension of the smartphone is 118 x 60 x 5.6 mm. That is 0.58 mm lower than the Huawei P6.

The source also pointed out that this would be the first of its kind to be measure less than 6 mm. Then, it is speculated that the screen size of the device will only be 4 inches.

Other Umeox X5 Specs

Aside from the dimensions and screen size, there is nothing much to say about its other specs. But we just hope that it will surpass or at least equal the features of the smartphone that it unseated from the throne. This is because people do not care much about the size of the device these days unlike in the past when consumers had the mentality that smaller is better.

Since the advent of smartphones and the rise of the iPhone, mobile phone users have been more focused on the features and apps that can run in a device. So, UMeox X5 should better be ready to go head to head with other products as well.

It is very easy to make a very small smartphone anyway, the problem is integrating a bunch of features in it. Moreover, let’s hope too that the 4 inch screen will not compromise the way that it displays or runs apps.
