Sony introduces Xperia ZR: the ultimate waterproof smartphone

Today Sony has made a new addition to the Xperia lineup, Sony Xperia ZR. As you can see the device gets its name from its elder sibling, Xperia Z and also boasts of some features which were only exclusive to the flagship device. The USP of the Smartphone like the Xperia Z is that it’s totally waterproof. But this time around, when the company says the device is waterproof, they actually mean it.

Unlike Xperia Z which could only be used in water for a limited time, Xperia ZR can be used underwater for over 30 minutes. The 13MP rear camera can be used to record and capture high definition videos and pictures under water up to a depth of 1.5 meters.

The specs of the device are pretty impressive too. The device features 4.6 inch screen with 720p resolution. The display boasts of a new opticontrast panel which makes the device much sharper and thinner. The device is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon processor with 2GB Ram. You get internal memory of 8GB with an option to upgrade storage via MicroSD card.

Seeing the high end features of the handset, we can conclude that Xperia ZR is a compact version of the Xperia Z. So if you are looking for a downsized version of Xperia Z, make sure you take a look at this sleek device.
